The Start Up Loan is a government-backed personal loan available to individuals looking to start or grow a business in the UK.
In addition to finance, successful applicants receive 12 months of free mentoring and exclusive business offers to help them succeed. The loan is unsecured, so there’s no need to put forward any assets or guarantors to support an application. All owners or partners in a business can individually apply for up to £25,000 each, with a maximum of £100,000 available per business.
A Start Up Loan is a personal loan for business purposes for a term of 1 to 5 years at a fixed rate of 6% per annum. Applicants must be aged 18 or over at the time of the application. A credit check will be completed
We will provide free templates and can personally help you create your Business Plan, Cash Flow Forecast, and Personal Survival Budget to submit with your application. If approved, you will be paired with a mentor for 12-months of free mentoring.
Enterprise North West works in partnership with Enterprise NI who are the Business Support Partner delivering Start Up Loans in Northern Ireland, on behalf of British Business Bank.

The NI Small Business Loan Fund provides access to finance for small businesses, sole traders, and partnerships that are keen to develop their business, but find it difficult to access funding through traditional sources.
You can borrow up to *£100k as an existing business and up to £15k as a start-up. Funding can be provided for a range of purposes including working capital, plant and machinery, commercial property, start-up and fit-out costs, growth plans, and stock purchases.
Since its launch in 2013, it has now provided over £6m of loans to over 270 businesses all across Northern Ireland.
